THE ORCHARD PARTNERS WITH FRENCHKISS RECORDS TO LAUNCH FRENCHKISS LABEL GROUP
The Orchard To Provide Distribution Services to Member Labels
New York, NY — January 25, 2012 — The Orchard (www.theorchard.com) today announced that it has partnered with Syd Butler to create the Frenchkiss Label Group (FKLG). In the spirit of Revolver, Secretly Canadian and Touch & Go, to name a few, FKLG was created in Syd Butler’s image, and will serve as a place for developing labels to transform into developed labels.
“Playing music and operating a successful music label is what I know and love. The Frenchkiss Label Group presents an opportunity for developing labels to learn from my achievements and mistakes,” says Syd Butler, founder of Frenchkiss Records. “We’re excited that The Orchard is by our side and we look forward to receiving our first submissions!”
Leading the day-to-day operations as Senior Vice President of FKLG is Jordy Trachtenberg, who formerly held senior positions at Gammon Records, The Orchard and IODA; he will use his keen sense of smell to sniff out the best and brightest that the indie world has to offer. Also joining the team as Director of Label Relations is Francesca Stabile, who joins FKLG from The Village Voice, and was also Showcase Coordinator of the CMJ Music Marathon in 2009 and 2010. To complete the partnership, The Orchard will provide distribution services to labels signed to FKLG.
